The spectacular Library House in Bangalore, India

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

Located in Bangalore, which is known as the capital of the southern Indian state of Karnataka and the "Silicon Valley of India", this spectacular private residence called the Library House was especially envisioned and completed by Khosla Associates for a family of three basing on the aim that is satisfying all the living requirements of its three home owners. The Library House displays an imposing layering of space and an exquisite mix of old and new, global and Indian.

According to the architects, “The 750 square feet area has a 25 ft high gabled roof with wooden trusses and a bookshelf spanning over 30 feet in length. It is a casual space where the family congregates, where carefully demarcated areas for lounging, studying, listening to music, playing the piano, and entertaining are carved out in an open plan layout".
