The charming Ballard Remodel house in Seattle, Washington

Named Ballard Remodel, this charming private family home designed by Grouparchitect is situated in Seattle, a prosperous coastal seaport city and the seat of King County, in the U.S. state of Washington. Owing to its original large cantilevered shed roof, a stylish outdoor terrace and an interesting mix of exterior finishes, the Ballard Remodel house impressed us right at the first sight. 

 

According to the architects, “the original split-level configuration of this home was maintained but the central stairway was rebuilt and exposed to access a new upper floor and rooftop deck with views of downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier.” 

In addition, “all opportunities to expose structure were taken on the interior, from uncovering existing wood decking and floor beams to the open wood stair and steel railings. Sustainable building strategies and materials were utilized wherever possible throughout the project.”
