Saturday, January 25, 2014

Artistically designed by Splinter Works , Vessel is known as an interesting bathtub with a unique design that brings a glamorous touch to the bathroom.
Suspended from the walls and not touching the floor, this bathtub design is definitely fixed with stainless steel brackets which can be covered over, or left revealed. Vessel is filled by creatively using a simple floor standing tap while the waste water released through the base into a functional floor drain. Furthermore, a down-pipe drain can also be placed if a wet room setting is not possible.

Description from the designers:
Vessel is made from carbon fiber which is utilized for its inherent strength and ability to be formed into complex curves, furthermore the weave of the fabric references the cloth of a typical hammock. Beneath the layers of carbon fiber lies a foam core, which insulates the tub, meaning the bath stays hot for considerably longer than normal. At 2.7m long, Vessel is longer than a regular bathtub, leaving plenty of room to share the experience. Custom sizes are available but it is also designed so that it can be trimmed up to 20 cm to allow for flexible installation. The project also comes in red, blue, yellow, pink, bronze and pure silver.
